Los Kitos & Santa Ana School District get across
mediation message

The Santa Ana Unified School District will be teaming up with Los Kitos Entertainment, LLC, in an effort to increase student awareness of the value of mediation in conflict resolution.
As part of its Pupil Support Services, the Santa Ana Unified School District has created a Peer Mediation Process for use when students find themselves in a dispute. The Peer Mediation Process teaches students how to define an existing problem, how to understand each other's point of view, how to brainstorm to find a solution, how to write an agreement and how to acknowledge the solution.
The Santa Ana Unified School District is responsible for the education of 58,000 students, 91.4% of which are Hispanic. Los Kitos brings the mediation message to the students in a colorful, bilingual poster that utilizes Los Kitos characters to get across the essential points involved in the process.
