Statement of Qualifications:

Martha Montoya, owner of internationally-recognized company, Los Kitos Entertainment LLC, has actively served the membership in several capacities since she first became a member of the Latin Business Association nearly four (4) years ago. Among her accomplishments:

* LBA Board of Directors, Member, Secretary
* LBA Expo Committee Chair 2001 and 2002 (Record-setting attendance both years despite an economic recession!)
* LBA International Committee Chair
* LBA Human Resources Committee Chair

Today, Martha Montoya is primed and ready to take the helm of the fastest-growing industry association in the nation nearly four yars after being recruited, and working side by side with Hector Barreto, former LBA Chairman and now Administrator of the Small Business Administration (SBA) and current LBA Chairman, Ruth Lopez Williams, both of whom are credited by many as responsible for the LBA's exponential growth and success during the last few years.

As a Latina business owner, Martha Montoya truly understands that LBA members need to have access to capital so that their businesses can better compete within their respective marketplace. More importantly, she knows how to help LBA members obtain access to tangible contracts, develop creative access to loans to deliver those contracts, and forge partnerships with global corporations and leading academic institutions to help deliver those contracts to our members by offering world-class educational programs.

With the core foundation now set, we must build upon our achievements and together build for the future.

Goals

- Invite more corporations to LBA's monthly mixers in an effort to create business relationships with our members.

- Foster networking and roundtable discussions among LBA members to create alliances and business relationships during the mixers.

- Establish long-range partnerships with national and international organizations to increase business opportunities for our members by creating a more continuous relationship between LBA members and corporations' procurement officers/buyers. We have come to realize that the "Expo" in and of itself is not a sufficient means of developing long-range contact.

- Ask corporations to inform about the investments that they are making or planning to make in their different areas when they invite LBA members to do business.

- Restructure educational programs to include a "BDA" (Bachelors of Diversity Administration), in addition to the standard "MBA." This new program/certification would offer students and professional small business owners a concentrated, "powerhouse" program structured around the importance and subtleties of the diversity mentality. This would also eliminate the need for instruction by Diversity Managers and executives year after year.

- Facilitating the access to the different lines of credit and loans programs the financial institutions have to offer, so that our members can expand their existing business and/or generate new ones.

Given the fact aht we are living in the age of information and advancing technology, it is imperative that the new LBA Chairperson also be able to handle these changing needs. Yet, while a technologically savvy leader is key for the success of this or any entity, the simple values of caring and human "touch" cannot be overstated.

I ask you for your vote in support of my candidacy for election as Chairman of the Board.
