Latin Business Expo 2001 Calls for Action
After the enormous tragedy of September 11, 2001, a call to action was delivered by the Latin Business Association (LBA) at the Latino Business Expo challenging Corporate America to Jump Start the Economy. Expo chair Martha Montoya brought together 4,700 business owners to attend the event, which featured keynote speaker Michael Milken and speaker Julie Stav, with seminars guided by Dr. Peter Drucker and the Baldridge Program. Michael Milken, founder of the Milken Institute, is one of Americašs leading philanthropists and financiers. At the convention, Milken spoke about the Hispanic market being the number one emerging market in the world. Speaker Julie Stav, stockbrocker and best-selling author of Get Your Share, and Fund Your Future, shed light on the world of investing and the stock market. Stav has been educating and empowering thousands of people, through hundreds of English and Spanish financial planning seminars, to take charge of their financial future and invest wisely in the stock market. The Latino Business Expo 2001 showcased more than 400 businesses, and Martha said that preparations are currently underway for this year's Expo, which is slated to take place on October 15 & 16, 2002.
